The Chinese manufacturer 729 Friendship has developed two very interesting offensive rubbers with the two rubbers Battle and Battle II . Except for the similar names, the two rubbers have almost nothing in common in terms of playing characteristics.
The Battle was specially developed for the European offensive game. The rubber has a comparatively soft sponge with its 40° and has been provided with a non- slip but non-sticky surface . The rubber is exceptionally dynamic and fast by Chinese standards and is almost reminiscent of German or Japanese technology rubbers. The sponge is also slightly porous.
The top sheet is relatively soft and elastic and offers good spin development. The Battle is therefore perfect for the classic, European style of play. Topspins, block balls, counter balls and shots succeed very safely and at high speed. The rubber also offers good acceleration from half-distance and can score in topspin and topspin duels.
