Pimplepark - Tenaxx
- Anti-topspin rubber with extremely dampening sponge
- Available in sponge thicknesses of 1.0mm, 1.5mm and 2.0mm
- for forward-hand oriented offensive players who want to prepare their own attack with their backhand
The Tenaxx is a highly interesting anti-topspin rubber from the German brand PiMPLEPARK . The aim of the development was, in addition to the two long pimples Wobbler and Cluster, to design an anti-topspin that helps offensive players to prepare their own points. The Tenaxx is neither a so -called Glanti nor can it be classified as a classic anti-topspin rubber . In terms of playing characteristics, the rubber moves between the two currently dominant variants on the market.
The top sheet of the Tenaxx is smooth, but still has minimal residual grip compared to the Glantis. The special feature of this rubber is the combination of the smooth surface and the very special and very soft cushioning sponge . The rubber is available in sponge thicknesses of 1.0mm, 1.5mm and 2.0mm . Unlike conventional rubbers, the following applies to the Tenaxx: the thicker the sponge, the slower the rubber.
Depending on the selected sponge thickness, this also results in different areas of application for the rubber:
- 2.0mm version for the player close to the table
In this version , the rubber dampens the most and, due to the very low speed, can also be excellently combined with fast offensive blades. The spin reversal is not as high as with Glantis but slightly improved compared to conventional anti-topspin rubbers. The strength of the 2.0mm version is clearly the extremely high level of control . The sponge absorbs even the hardest topspins and allows short blocks without any problems. As a result, the opponent's rhythm can be significantly disturbed and one's own attacks with the forehand can be perfectly prepared. However, the rubber should be played really close to the tablebecause the sponge dampens so much that defensive shots from half-distance hardly reach the opponent's half.
- 1.5mm version for the variable player
The medium sponge version is perfect for the variable player . The control properties are still outstanding, but the slightly higher speed allows for dangerous counterattacks in addition to purely passive blocks . You can disturb the opponent very well with a very variable placement game in order to launch your own attacks. The spin reversal is slightly higher than in the 2.0mm version. This variant should also be played quite close to the table, but occasional defensive hits are clearly better. - 1.0mm version for the more defensive player
In the thinnest sponge version, the Tenaxx changes the playing characteristics significantly on a few shots. While it is not easy to play with the other two variants in defense away from the table, the 1.0mm version is also excellent for classic defensive shots. The amazing thing is that the Tenaxx in this version also produces a not inconsiderable backspin in the defense away from the table. Counterattacks such as shots or block balls pressed out far can also be carried out at the table due to the lowest speed.
The Tenaxx is therefore aimed at players who do not primarily wait for slight mistakes by the opponent due to strong reversal of the cut (because this is higher with Glantis, as described), but rather at offensive players who are very forehand-oriented and want to use the backhand for preparation and benefit from the special playing characteristics of this anti.
In the thin 1.0mm version , the rubber can be excellently combined with more defensive blades such as the Filius . In the middle version, the Tenaxx harmonizes perfectly with the Murus . The 2.0mm version has such a dampening sponge that fast blades like the Impetus or the Sica should be used.
